Are you giving your clients a reason to sign up for your e-mail list? Do you even have an e-mail list?
If you don't have an e-mail subscription list, you are missing out on a whole new world of internet marketing. Have you ever purchased something online, only to find out that two weeks later you get e-mailed with the latest offers and goodies? Yep, we've all experienced it.
One of the easiest ways to begin building up an e-mail list of your clients is to add them to your e-mail list once they register to your site. Of course, you'll need to get their permission first, but this is usually easily achievable. If you leave the option "subscribe to e-mail list" ticked, the user then has the option to opt of our list. Thankfully though, the majority of users who sign up will leave it ticked because they actually want to receive the latest offers and promotions your business is running.
As you begin to build an e-mail list, set yourself a timetable which you'll send out an e-mail. We find that once a week works best. Every week, you're going to e-mail your readers with some of the best promotions and offers you're currently running. It's best to create compelling and eye-captivating e-mails, so pictures work wonders here. Simply include a picture of the product, a brief description and a link to check out further information. Before you know it, you'll have your customers re-visiting your site to check out your latest offers.
However, the best part of building an e-mail marketing list is that you can take advantage of the customers who haven't purchased anything yet. We all know that sometimes users sign up to your site, but they don't actually follow the checkout process through. They either change their mind, realize they can't afford it or find a better product elsewhere. Just because you've missed out on their business this time, doesn't mean you can't reel them back in at a later date.
Another great way of building up your e-mail list is to offer an incentive for doing so. Display a widget on your website and offer a 5% discount on their next order for signing up. You'll be surprised how many users actually sign up in order to get their discount. The benefits for your business go without saying.
The online retail site Scan last year announced that 25% of their total sales come as a result of e-mail communications. Every week, they send out an e-mail with the latest hardware and computer peripherals that are added to their store. They include 10 products in total. While the customers receiving the e-mail may not purchase any of those 10 products, it gives them an incentive to get back on the website and begin navigating again.
Without a doubt, building an e-mail marketing list can help your business to generate business from old clients time and time again.
